Brewster Bearacudas
BEARACUDA UPDATE
Swim team is open to any child in our area, age 6 thru 18, who can swim the length of the pool without standing up. Young swimmers cannot compete in a race until they are able to swim that stroke for the length of the pool.
Regular practice starts June 13 and the season runs thru the end of July. Practice time will be 8-9:30 am, Monday thru Friday. A later practice time may be added.
Team fee is $40. AAU membership is $12.
Team swim suits may be purchased. Female is $36, Male is $31. This is not a requirement.
Typically we participate in 4 Saturday Invitationals (all 4 teams in our league) and 5 or 6 Tuesday evening Duals (2 teams). Attendance is not required at every meet, but we strongly encourage all swimmers to participate in as many as possible.
The first meet is scheduled for 6-21-11 and the final meet, the League Championship, is 7-30-11.
Practices are not swimming lessons, but all swimmers receive instruction and correction. It may be beneficial for a swimmer to take lessons also and these can be arranged through the pool manager, Shan Miller.
